With the third lockdown well under way and everyone stuck indoors due to the typical British weather it is hard to find something to entertain ourselves.
Get yourself snuggled in warm and cosy whist enjoying a taste of Cornwall with our recommended watch and reads.
Blue, Air and Ride trilogy – Lisa Glass
For the young adults amongst us or the forever young this surf and romance series written by Lisa Glass visits the vibrant town and beautiful beaches of Newquay.
In the first book ‘Blue’ we are introduced to it’s leading characters Iris and Zeke who strike up a refreshing love story whilst surfing the waves of Newquay’s Fistral beach.

Documentary following the working lives of Cornwall’s fishermen and women fishing different breathtaking coves of the Cornish coast including Newquay’s very own harbour.
Not just a way to make a living it seems fishing runs through the blood of generations of these families.
A brilliant well filmed documentary series covering all the politics, family life and the day to day highs and lows of the British fishing industry.
Very entertaining and thoroughly educational for all the non fisher men and women out there too.
Doc Martin – TV series ITV
Set in the pretty village of Port Isaac, Martin Clunes stars in this lighthearted comedy.
With an array of quirky characters and picturesque scenery you will be transformed to Cornwall from the comfort of your own living room.
The ongoing series follows the trials and tribulations of Dr. Martin Ellingham (Martin Clunes), a socially challenged doctor who moves from London to the picturesque village of Port Wenn (Port Isaac) in Cornwall to become the local practitioner to the rather funny and entertaining village residents.
Fisherman’s Friends – Film
Staying in the costal village of Port Isaac this hilarious, heartfelt comedy will have you giggling all your lockdown woes away right from the opening scenes.
Based on a true story about a group of Cornish fishermen from the village who try their luck in the shallow world of the music business with their traditional sea shanties.
Summer At The Cornish Café – Phillipa Ashley
The Cornish coast sets a stunning backdrop for this story with romantic, funny and fabulous characters Demi and Cal. You can't help fall in love with this book. Or even put it down! This book will make you want to run away to the Cornish coast.
