Newquay Lantern Trail 2023
Look out for the lanterns in Newquay town centre, find the letters and guess the mystery word to win your prize.
This year, local schools and organisations have created lanterns for the Christmas parade. After the lantern parade on the 1st of December, the lanterns will be displayed in windows across the town centre (with thanks from some local businesses) from 4th December as part of a free festive family-friendly trail.
This is a free and fun festive activity for families. The map will be available from the Tourist Information Centre or downloadable online from Monday 4th December – Wednesday 20th December 2023.

Help find Santa's helpers across businesses in the town!
Visit Newquay and Love Newquay are inviting families to search for them and Santa has kindly left a gift for each child who finds them all.
The competition, created by Visit Newquay and Newquay Business Improvement District (BID), involves children (accompanied by an adult) following the clue sheet trail to help find Santa's Christmas helpers.
Clue sheets will be made available from the Tourist Information Centre from Saturday 16th December 2023 and you will have until 2pm Christmas Eve to return your completed form.
New Year’s Eve!
A much-loved tradition, Newquay comes alive on New Year’s Eve as locals and tourists wear fancy dress throughout the town to celebrate the New Year in style. Make your way through the bars, or gather at Central Square to join the party!
If you decide to celebrate at home or in town make sure you see 2023 in with a bang with the fantastic fireworks display put on by Newquay Town Council at midnight over the bay, which is sure to make your New Year’s Eve a night to remember.
