This years theme for Newquay Carnival 2008 is "America".
The carnival starts at Tregunnel Car Park at 7pm (Registration before 5.50pm). Parade walkers can join the Carnival at Sainsbury's car park at 7:20pm. The Carnival will then parade through the centre of Newquay, ending at Chester Road Market. The float judging will take place at Tregunnel car park at about 6:15pm and the walkers will be judged at 6:30pm at Sainsbury's.

On Friday 9 July the Bishops' School, Newquay will be holding our annual Summer Fayre on our school field. This year promises to be the best yet; we have several activities planned for the evening including an "It's the Knockout" competition which should draw a huge crowd! It's A Knockout will start at approximately 5pm.

Under the banner of authentic Aussie beach culture, men and women pit themselves against the ocean. Teams of four, guided by their sweep (helmsperson), race their surfboats out through the breaking surf and, all being well, catch a wave back in again.

Fly by Newquay Zoo for this special week dedicated to our feathery friends. "Countryside Hawking" will also be visiting the Zoo on Monday 26th July to give talks and displays of some of Europe's most impressive Birds of Prey.

Starting from Monday 26th July Countryside hawking will be visiting Newquay Zoo between 11am and 2pm on Mondays until the 23rd of August to give talks on their wonderful Bird of Prey Collection.
Countryside Hawking will be bringing a number of impressive birds including, a European Eagle Owl, American Kestrel, Peregrine Falcon and Storm, the spectacular Harris Hawk.
