Newquay Grand Carnival Parade 2010
This years theme for Newquay Carnival 2008 is "America".
The carnival starts at Tregunnel Car Park at 7pm (Registration before 5.50pm). Parade walkers can join the Carnival at Sainsbury's car park at 7:20pm. The Carnival will then parade through the centre of Newquay, ending at Chester Road Market. The float judging will take place at Tregunnel car park at about 6:15pm and the walkers will be judged at 6:30pm at Sainsbury's.

Summer Fayre
On Friday 9 July the Bishops' School, Newquay will be holding our annual Summer Fayre on our school field. This year promises to be the best yet; we have several activities planned for the evening including an "It's the Knockout" competition which should draw a huge crowd! It's A Knockout will start at approximately 5pm.

Surfboat Racing
Under the banner of authentic Aussie beach culture, men and women pit themselves against the ocean. Teams of four, guided by their sweep (helmsperson), race their surfboats out through the breaking surf and, all being well, catch a wave back in again.

Surf Relief Festival
A one day family friendly beach festival to benefit the charity Surf Relief UK. This event really has it all: a pro-surfing competition, lifesaving tournament, beach games, family activities, all rounded off with the Sunset Sessions, a live music festival taking place right on the sand.

The Friends of St Michael's Church host a piano and voice recital at St Michael's Church on Friday 23rd July 2010 from 7.30pm. Martin Palmer plays the piano and soprano Cheryl Rosevear provides the voice.
Tickets cost £5.00 and are available from Newquay Tourist Information Centre on Marcus Hill or St Michael's Church Monday to Friday 10am - 12noon

Beaks, Wings and Things!
Fly by Newquay Zoo for this special week dedicated to our feathery friends. Drop into our animal enrichment session and make food plaits and fruit kebabs for our parrots and help prepare ice treats for our penguins! "Countryside Hawking" will also be visiting the Zoo on Monday 26th July to give talks and displays of some of Europe's most impressive Birds of Prey.

Wild Breakfast
The first of three Wild Breakfast events this summer. An atmospheric dawn tour of the Zoo with the keeper as the animals wake for the day!
Prepare animal enrichment treats and tuck into a delicious cooked breakfast at Café Lemur.

Bird of Prey Display Week 1
Starting from Monday 26th July Countryside hawking will be visiting Newquay Zoo between 11am and 2pm on Mondays until the 23rd of August to give talks on their wonderful Bird of Prey Collection.
Countryside Hawking will be bringing a number of impressive birds including, a European Eagle Owl, American Kestrel, Peregrine Falcon and Storm, the spectacular Harris Hawk.
