Newquay Dramatic Society presents "The Kingfisher" a comedy penned by W. D. Home, directed by Sheila Lines and staged at The Lane Theatre. It tells the story of Cecil, a successful novelist living comfortably with his fussy old butler, who is contemplating marriage. The object of his affections, Evelyn, has just buried the man she married fifty years ago after being propositioned by Cecil. Set in the 1970's in Cecil's garden this play has all the elegance of the 1930's. A delightful comedy that is immensely charming, bewitchingly elegant and extremely funny. Come back to a time when making love meant a kiss and computers required a room to house them and a mobile phone was just a dream.
Tickets are available online at the Lane Theatre website or by calling the Box Office on 01637 876945 (Mon-Wed 10am- 1pm) alternatively you may be lucky to find available seats at the Theatre from 7pm on the night of any performance. We would advise booking in advance to avoid disappointment.
