Skate Bowls, Vintage Boards & Big Waves: UK Surf & Skate Expo Is Stacked
22nd April 2025
The inaugural UK Surf & Skate Expo is less than five months away – and now, organisers have just announced a whole line-up of new events set to take place over the expo's weekend.
This event marks the first time in almost two decades that the UK has its own celebration of surf and skate culture in this style – an event across Newquay, Cornwall, with multiple exhibitors, brands on-site, a surf competition, skate bowl contest, workshops and so much more – all taking place from the September 12th to 14th.
“The aim of the expo is to bring everyone together for one big weekend,” said expo organiser Chris Thomson. “There's so much going on in the British surf and skate scenes, and they're both growing at a rapid pace. Now, we've got a few more exciting events to announce – and keep your eyes out for more in the future.”
Today, Surfing England have confirmed that their Junior Surf Series will take place at Fistral Beach as part of the expo, an opportunity to see the UK’s greatest under 18 surfers in action.
All day on Saturday and Sunday, September 14th-15th, there will be a Vintage Surf & Skate – Meet & Swap event too. This will bring together collectors, enthusiasts and fans to discover old school boards, sell, swap or admire. A chance to connect with like-minded people.
Also, the 80’s inspired Ride or Die skateboard bowl contest is booked in for Saturday evening, an opportunity to see local rippers shred on skateboards from that era.
Saltrock will be running a number of free breath work workshops by big wave surfer Andrew “Cotty” Cotton and Ticket To Ride will be providing a presentation at The School Of Surf & Skate about careers in the surfing industry.
Brandwave will be hosting BrandLAB, a unique sports marketing and networking concept where we are joined by VIP guest mentors from some of the biggest brands in the world. Within the sessions, there will be advice from forward-thinking brands, organisations and athletes with a clear vision to make an impact and inspire positive change. Sign ups for BrandLAB opens this week.
