Beaches

Being known as the surfing capital of England, Newquay’s main attraction would be one of the twelve sandy beaches – with each one offering a different beach experience you will be spoilt for choice! Beaches are a great day out for all the family to enjoy, with the vast spaces for the little ones to run around and release some energy and the beautiful scenery for the adults to sit back and relax. If you fancy doing something a little different and want to give surfing a go then many of the beaches will have a surf school or surf hire available.

Newquay Zoo

Newquay is home to Cornwall’s largest zoo where you can get closer to over 130 species in acres of grounds. See the penguins relaxing in their pool, visit the creepiest crawlies in the atmospheric tropical house, watch the big cats get their lunch, and learn more about animal and environmental conservation.

Blue Reef Aquarium

Situated on Towan Beach in the centre of Newquay, opposite the famous Towan Island, the Blue Reef Aquarium is a stunning visit. Be amazed by the local marine species from the Cornish coast to hundreds of tropical species in the gigantic ocean display complete with an underwater tunnel.

Newquay Harbour

Newquay remains an important Cornish fishing port and a trip to Newquay Harbour is a must on your ’10 things to do before you leave’ list. From the Harbour, you can join fishing trips and excursions with Newquay’s fleet of brightly coloured fishing boats.

Trenance Gardens and Boating Lake

Trenance Gardens in Newquay with its boating lake, tea rooms and restaurant is a perfect place to stop a while and enjoy the scenery before you discover Trenance Valley, complete with a miniature railway, bowling green, tennis centre, crazy golf, pitch and putt, children’s playground and Newquay Leisure World with fitness centre and swimming pool.
