Newquay Town Council implements precautions to tackle the spread of COVID-19
Newquay Town Council have made the decision to implement a variety of measures to each of its services to prevent the further spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
The ultimate aim of these precautions is to protect staff and the public from spreading the virus. The measures are ahead of any government announcement, as the Town Council have made their own local risk assessments.
Facilities Service
The hand washing machines in each of the toilets have been reprogrammed to stay on for 30 seconds, in line with NHS advice to thoroughly wash your hands with warm water and soap for the duration of that time.
The Facilities Team will continue their daily tasks as usual and have stepped up their cleaning, with signs put in place as reminders for people to wash their hands. Newquay Town Council is responsible for the most public toilets in Cornwall and want to ensure that every possible measure is taken to increase hygiene levels and guarantee access to all.
