Here is a useful guide to Newquays's local services. The details are correct at the time of publication, taken from websites, social media and phone conversations with businesses. We hope you appreciate that this is a fast-moving issue and some details may change on a day to day basis. Please do check with organisations beforehand to ensure that the information detailed below is correct.
Supermarkets:
- Morrisons: 07:00-23:00 Mon-Sat, 10:00-16:00 Sun. Morrisons have introduced an NHS hour. From 6am-7am Monday-Saturday. All colleagues with an NHS badge will be able to get into the store to stock up on the products they need.
- Sainsburys: 07:00-21:00 Mon-Sat, 10:00-16:00 Sun. Sainsbury's are now offering elderly and vulnerable customers, NHS staff and care workers prioritised access to our stores at any time. Please show a valid NHS or care worker pass at the door.
- Aldi: 08:00-22:00 Mon-Sat, 11:00-17:00 Sun.
- Lidl: Mon - Sat 08:00-22:00, Sun 10:00-16:00, Bank holiday (May / Spring / Summer) 08:00-20:00

Doctors Surgeries and Pharmacies:
- Newquay Hospital (01637) 834800. 08:00-22:00 Mon-Sun. X-rays will not be offered after 17:00.
- Narrowcliff Surgery (01637) 854433. 08:30-18:00 Mon-Fri, closed on weekends. By appointment only - please call to make an appointment, walk-in visitors will not be accepted.
- Newquay Health Centre (01637) 850002. 08:30-18:00 Mon-Fri, closed on weekends. An emergency line will be in service from 08:00-08:30 and 18:00-18:30 Mon-Fri. Newquay Health Centre are offering e-consultations if you need to speak with a GP, and responses are expected within 48hrs. All appointments are currently telephone triage with the option for a video consultation if appropriate. Any queries should be directed to the above telephone number. Any repeat prescriptions should be requested via their dedicated email service prescriptions.nqhc@nhs.net. Requests are currently not being accepted over the phone to reduce call traffic.

- Sainsburys Delivery available for Delivery Pass Members. New online registrations for home deliveries and click and collect now available but new pass memberships not available. Priority slots available for vulnerable customers

Other services include: Take away, shop order collections, prescription collections (free for the vulnerable), parcel/package collection and delivery. Please note all drivers are working from home, therefore require at least 15-20 minutes notice.
- Baker Tom’s Bread Box www.bakertom.co.uk/bread-box - Home delivery for TR7 postcodes. £7 small, £12 large. £4 delivery charge. Mobile Bread Van in operation at different locations including Porth and Nansledan.
- Dominos continue to deliver and have a ‘no contact’ procedure.

Waste Disposal:

HWRCs are accepting all types of waste that are usually processed, queues are to be expected at peak times. Card payments only, please remain in your vehicle while queuing to observe the government’s social distancing guidelines.

Newquay Town Council is still co-ordinating its Volunteer Support Service in partnership with Newquay Lions, Newquay Towan Blystra Lions and the Rotary Club of Newquay, to provide deliveries to vulnerable people within our community. - Soul Food Kitchen Newquay are offering a delicious takeaway service every Thursday from the Store House. Please check out their FB page for more info. Help and support is still available through DISC Newquay in their new home at the Sandy Lodge Hotel.
- The Clothes Horse www.facebook.com/clotheshorsecornwall/ The Clothes Horse are still about working to give you winter bundles for your children. There are no criteria to receive clothes. If you need clothes for your children, please send a message letting them know what you need. A parcel will be made up and if Newquay based, they will deliver by bike respecting social distancing, or if further afield they will post a parcel to your address.

Residents Associations
Search for the name of your estate/flats – there may be a Facebook group for it that you were unaware of, such as Nansledan or Coastline Court.
CA are focusing their efforts on providing support on welfare benefits, debt, consumer, employment, housing and other issues via phone, email, text or webchat to ensure they safely reach as many people as possible during this time. They have closed offices for face to face except in emergency.

Volunteer Cornwall have also set up Flu Friends. Flu Friends are friends, relatives, neighbours and local volunteers who could help in the case of a flu pandemic. These volunteers may be asked to do a variety of roles to help those in self isolation, in particular the elderly. The types of things you could be asked to do includes collecting medicine, dog walking, shopping etc with the aim of keeping the most vulnerable in their homes. Volunteer Cornwall Travel Service. Being an essential service, transport is still running. The number of drivers VC have is lower than normal.
