About
We are excited to announce that members of the Cornwall Branch of the Military Vehicle Trust (CMVT) will be coming to Bodmin Keep on Armed Forces Day, the 24th June 2017.
For one day only, military vehicles from various historical periods will be stationed outside The Keep. Come and see these magnificent machines and chat to their owners. Members of the CMVT will be on hand all day to answer questions and talk about the roles of each vehicle in historic military theatres, as well as share their stories about the joys – and otherwise – of owning a historic military vehicle!
The Cornish Branch of the national Military Vehicle Trust are a friendly group who specialise in the restoration, preservation and display of military vehicles of all types, both wartime and post-war. You can find out more on their website, here or find them on facebook.
The museum’s pop up café will be running on the day, where visitors will be able to enjoy a cuppa and a piece of cake before heading up to the museum to look around the extensive collections. Visitors can explore our armoury, which has been termed the ‘finest collection of weaponry in the South West’. Other museum displays include The Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry (DCLI) collection and the National Collection of the Light Infantry (LI), as well as objects from the Cornwall Militia.
