Newquay at Christmas: Three Days of Festive Magic at the Killacourt

Newquay is set to sparkle this festive season with an enchanting three day Christmas celebration at the historic Killacourt. From the magical lights switch on to live music, family entertainment, and a bustling Christmas market, this unmissable event promises to bring joy and festive cheer to residents and visitors alike.

Friday 28th November: Newquay Lights Switch On

The festivities kick off with Newquay's spectacular Christmas Lights Switch On, transforming the town into a winter wonderland.

Event Highlights:

• 3:00pm - Christmas Market & Bar opens, offering festive shopping and seasonal refreshments
• 3:30pm - Oll an Gwella carol singing fills the air with traditional Christmas melodies
• 4:30pm - Wicked Tribute takes the Bandstand stage
• 5:40pm - Bubbles the Pixie entertains families with festive fun
• 6:30pm - Radio Newquay joins the Mayor on stage to count down to the main event
• 6:45pm - The magical moment arrives: Light Switch On followed by a dazzling fireworks display over Killacourt
• 6:50pm - Forever Swift - Taylor Swift Tribute closes the evening with chart topping hits
• 9:00pm - Christmas Market and Bar close

The lights switch on ceremony is a cherished Newquay tradition, bringing the community together to celebrate the start of the Christmas season. This year's Christmas tree has been generously sponsored by Boardmasters, the iconic surf and music festival.

Saturday 29th November: Live Music & Festive Market

Saturday brings a full day of live music to the Christmas Market's entertainment area, showcasing local talent.

• 10:00am - 12:00pm - Wreath Making Workshop (booking required)
• 12:00pm - 12:45pm - Lowrie & Mark

Sunday 30th November: Family Festive Fun Day

The weekend culminates with a family focused day packed with activities for children and adults alike.

• 10:00am - Christmas Market and Entertainment area opens
• 10:00am - 5:00pm - Giant Snow Globe photo opportunity - capture your perfect Christmas memory
• 10:00am - 2:00pm - Children's Art Workshop (drop-in, no booking required)
• 10:30am - 2:30pm - Café Petite presents theatrical performances and enchanting Christmas storytelling
• 11:00am - 1:00pm - Special festive visitors join the celebrations
• 3:00pm - Christmas Market closes (Bar and Entertainment area remain open)
• 3:00pm - 5:00pm - Children's Christmas Disco in the entertainment area
• 5:30pm - Entertainment area and Bar close
