The Celtic Art of Hamish Burgess this Sunday July 6th from 1-7pm at The Celtic Lounge on Tor Rd. in Newquay. Free entry.

Bunney & Hamish will be hosting, and showing his artwork all day, with various talks when it gets a bit busy.

Who is Hamish Douglas Burgess? A Celtic artist living on the island of Maui, in the Hawaiian Islands. He continues the 2500 year old tradition with his own Celtic art, traditional and modern, in various mediums, from line drawings to paintings, and even entire cars. He has a love of Celtic art and music instilled in him, coming from Celtic stock (Scottish), and living for many years in a Celtic area of Britain (Cornwall). He regularly spends time in the ancient Celtic areas of Britain, Ireland and Europe, studying ancient works of art. 

He is best known for his Celtic art album covers, and magazine covers. He is exclusive artist for The Irish Rovers, one of the world’s longest running Celtic bands, now performing for 60 years. He created all their recent album, DVD covers and stage backdrops. He is also their photographer, capturing images for the band that have made international magazine covers. 

He has done many art covers for the Celtic Connection newspaper in Vancouver, BC, and is artist for the proposed national Ireland Canada Monument.
