About
3 days, of talks, music, walks & tours, organised by the du Maurier Festival Society, as a fundraiser for the 2013 Festival (8th to 18th May). Events include a literary lunch with Judy Finnigan, concerts by Johnny Cowling and Cantabile a nostalgia film show and talks all on a Cornwall / Cornish theme.
The town of Fowey will play host to a wide range of events in a variety of venues. All events are linked to Cornwall, with talks on the Newlyn School of Art, Lanhydrock House, Daphne du Maurier, John Betjeman, Silvanus Trevail and many others, all celebrating Cornwall and the county's cultural history and heritage.
All events are open to the public and are ticketed. Visitors can take part in question and answer sessions with speakers, go on a guided walk around Fowey or enjoy a look behind the closed doors of Lanhydrock House, in a special tour of the National Trust property at a time when the House is normally closed to the public. In the evening there are entertaining shows to enjoy in the beautiful Fowey Parish Church.
