New Train Naming Ceremony at Lappa Valley

Join us as we kick off our 50th birthday celebrations in style, with the official naming of our brand new locomotive!

As part of our 50th birthday celebrations in 2024, we’ve introduced the first brand new mainline train to Lappa Valley for 50 years – we’re going to be naming it in a special ceremony.

The new locomotive and carriages have been in service since they arrived in November. We ran a competition with Lappa fans to come up with a name for the locomotive, and we’ve selected our winner….

However, it’s still a secret – and we’d like to invite you to be one of the first to find out the name!

The ceremony will be taking place around 2:15pm, however the park will be open throughout the day as part of our normal half term opening so you are welcome to come and enjoy the facilities beforehand. Please note that normal admission does apply, and annual passes are valid.
