Line Up
The line-up for the first UK Surf & Skate Expo has been revealed and the schedule's looking packed. From a chat with one iconic skate legend to a keynote presentation about handling yourself in the face of fear, a Surf Girl panel, photography workshop with an ex-WSL heroine, grom talk, surfpreneur round-table, shaper workshop and so much more, all coupled with some of the biggest brands exhibiting in the industry, a UK junior surf competition -- there's a whole bunch going on.
From September 12th – 14th in Newquay, Cornwall, there's a full timetable of events over three days which all aim to bring together the surf and skate community, the first time an event like this has happened on UK shores in close to 20 years.
“To put on an event that celebrates these special communities, to bring everyone together, for anyone tired of the doom-scroll, this is an opportunity to get together and be around like-minded people,” said organiser Chris Thomson. “It's free to attend the Expo Village, where you get to see and interact with your favourite brands. For talks and keynotes, it's best to pick up the Three Day Explorer Pass, which will grant you access to every talk, presentation, sit-down and chat in the expo. Basically, it's your all access pass.”
On Saturday, skate legend and Dogtown icon Tony Alva will be on hand for An Evening with Alva, set for 7pm in the Expo Hall.
“Really looking forward to this,” said Alva. “We're going to have a lot of fun, and can't wait for you all to join us.”
