Cafes & Coffee Shops
There are Café’s and coffee shops all around the town and many are next to the beaches, with glorious sea views.
Whilst Newquay does have some of the coffee shop chains there are also a number of locally run establishments offering the most delicious cakes, snacks and light lunches - and of course a Cornish Cream Tea. You really don’t have to walk far to find somewhere to have a tea, coffee or light snack in Newquay.
Many local Café’s offer home made cakes and delicious pastries which can be made especially indulgent with Cornish Clotted Cream. Many feature Cornish made ice cream from several producers; the really rich and indulgent Cornish Clotted Cream variety is hard to beat.
There is also a little café and tea rooms hidden away at the Trenance Gardens and Boating Lake. The tearoom is in the recently restored Trenance Heritage cottages. These late 18th Century stone cottages are surrounded by the scenic gardens and trees plus feature a small museum on their history.
Newquay has a number of places with that real evening café culture feel, friendly and welcoming they offer regular live music from many different genres from jazz, blues & country to Rock’n’Roll or Funk and many more. For a real leap into unknown there are also regular open mic nights which can really entertain – although sometimes not as the performer intended!
