19 Things You Didn’t Know You Could do at Newquay Library

If you go to Newquay Library, the only thing to do is read books, right? WRONG! You can read a lot of books, but by signing up to the library you also have access to an abundance of wonderful resources! Have a read of the list below to find out what they are.

2. Borrowbox - Ebooks and Audio Books
Download eAudiobooks and eBooks on your tablet, smartphone, PC or Mac. You'll need to download the BorrowBox app to read them on your smartphone or tablet.

3. Pressreader - Read Newspapers Online
Enjoy the convenience of accessing all your favourite publications in one place, along with the opportunity to discover new content from around the world. Read newspapers and magazines online including today’s Guardian, Telegraph and Daily Mail, Vogue, Empire, Focus, Gardener’s World, Closer and thousands of others.
There are many ways of accessing this service, in the library with our Wi-Fi, on our library PC’s, on your smartphone or tablet with either your browser or the PressReader App, at home or in fact anywhere!

4. Join a Readers Group
Take a look at the link below to browse our readers groups and join one yourself! It’s an excellent way to meet new, like-minded people and discuss your favourite books.
5. Subscribe to Find My Past
Research your family history and build your family tree for free at Newquay Library! Simply subscribe to Find My Past using the link below. Please not you can only use this service in the library.

7. Access Junior Britannica
The Britannica Library is a safe, up-to-date, and age-appropriate information resource for all ages.

8. Access the Online Reference library
The Online Reference Library is a collection of recommended websites and subscription resources. These resources have been sorted by subject area to help you find the information you need.
9. Free Computer Classes

10. Practice your Driving Theory Test Online
Theory Test Pro is a highly realistic online simulation of the UK's driving theory test. Available free to library members using an internet connection here:
11. Learn a Language

12. Computer Access
Anyone can use the computers in our libraries and two hours are free for library members. All our computers have internet access or you can log on to our WiFi using your borrower number. Read more here:

We can help you improve your prospects of finding a job. Our library staff will provide support for job seekers as well as free computer access so you can apply for jobs online.

17. The Information Service
Formally Newquay’s One Stop Shop, the Information Service is also located at Newquay Library.
Open from 9.30am-5.00pm Monday - Friday, our Information Services bring information on Council services closer to where you live, including information on library services, housing, benefits, council tax, disabled parking badges and refuse and recycling.
We can offer advice on how to get information about applying for Council services online, take payments for council services and have free internet access to the Council's website and other public service websites.
18. Go to a Newquay Library Event
We have so many events for all the family to attend at Newquay Library, including Lego Club, Rhyme Time, Needle Craft Corner, seasonal events such as our Easter Eggstravaganza, or our upcoming Heritage evening.
