It’s the most wonderful time of the year and here in Newquay, there is something for everyone over the Christmas season.   

Newquay at Christmas

Kickstart this festive season with Newquay at Christmas 2024. This begins on Friday 27th November 2024, with the Newquay light switch on and Christmas market. There will be family entertainment throughout the day and evening to keep everyone entertained and then see the sky lit up with a spectacular fireworks display over the bay! The Christmas market will then continue for 3 days until Sunday 1st December at 3pm.

Newquay hosts numerous Christmas events throughout December, from traditional church services to meeting Father Christmas and even getting to see him ride past your home on his sleigh!

Newquay Lantern Parade 2024

The enchanting Lantern Parade will lead the proceedings from Trenance Car Park at 5.30pm on Friday 22nd November 2024, before making its way to Trenance Cottages in a dazzling display. This is the first time that Trenance has played host to the town’s popular lantern parade tradition in partnership with Blystra Arts and it is set to be brighter than ever before with 100’s of schoolchildren and members of the community partaking to showcase their illuminated creations in a glowing trail of radiance.

Newquay Christmas Trail 

Visit Newquay and Newquay Town Council Events are inviting families to participate in the Newquay Christmas Trail and Santa has kindly left a gift for each child who takes part. 

The competition, created by Visit Newquay and Newquay Town Council Events, involves children (accompanied by an adult) following the clue sheet trail to help find Santa's Christmas posters. Participants just need to find the posters to complete the word.

Clue sheets will be made available from the Visit Newquay Tourist Information Centre from Saturday 14th December 2024.

Participating businesses will have a poster with a symbol on either in the business window or inside the business somewhere. Once the clue sheet has been completed it can be handed to Visit Newquay Tourist Information Centre, TR7 1BD where the children can claim a little Christmas treat!

New Year’s Eve!

A much-loved tradition, Newquay comes alive on New Year’s Eve as locals and tourists wear fancy dress throughout the town to celebrate the New Year in style. Make your way through the bars, or gather at Central Square to join the party!

If you decide to celebrate at home or in town make sure you see 2024 in with a bang with the fantastic fireworks display put on by Newquay Town Council Events at midnight over the bay, which is sure to make your New Year’s Eve a night to remember.
