Hawkins Classic Collection rolls into Blackwater for a celebration of motoring nostalgia

Classic cars, film and TV icons and much-loved motors come together at Hawkins Blackwater in support of the Merlin Neuro Therapy Centre. A celebration of classic motoring, nostalgia and some of the most memorable cars of the golden eras of the automobile.

The Hawkins Classic Collection event takes place at Hawkins Blackwater on Sunday 1st November from 9am to 1pm. Entry is free, with donations welcomed throughout the event in support of the Merlin Neuro Therapy Centre.

The event is being held in support of the Merlin Neuro Therapy Centre, a Cornwall-based charity providing specialist therapies, services and support for people living with neurological conditions, as well as their families and carers

With a spirit inspired by the great motoring gatherings of Goodwood, visitors can expect everything from cherished family favourites and performance cars to legendary James Bond cars, film and TV replicas and other vehicles that have captured imaginations and become part of popular culture.At the heart of the event will be the Hawkins Classic Collection, giving visitors the opportunity to get up close to a selection of distinctive vehicles and restoration projects, including a beautifully preserved 1989 Peugeot 205 GTI and 1998 Lotus Esprit V8. But the event is designed to be about more than simply looking at cars.

There will also be plenty to get involved with away from the cars, with activities running across the dealership throughout the morning. Visitors can put their skills to the test with Scalextric racing, a driving simulator, cornhole, rowing and a putting challenge, adding a little friendly competition to the day.

Visitors will be able to wander among the cars, meet owners, share stories and enjoy refreshments from Cub&Co and The Millstone, creating a relaxed morning of motoring, coffee and conversation.

Owners of special vehicles are also being invited to become part of the event, whether they have a cherished classic, a much-loved family car, a rare performance model, an unusual vehicle or a film or television replica.
